This thing is really neat

I picked up my kit a week ago. I live in Canada, so I had it shipped to an office at the border where I picked it up and imported it myself. It was totally worth it, this kit looks and sounds amazing. The range on the heads is something to be mentioned. I can tell by the sound that I am striking the edge of the drum head and that gives it an authentic feel. The cymbals are very responsive and very accurate, and the hi hat is no acceptation here either. The Ad5 module is much easier to use and navigate than I was expecting, and making changes to volume and drum/cymbal sounds is very easy. Adjusting the sensitivity is a very neat ability and works as expected. Even the hardware on this kit is heavy and sturdy.

I used the AD5 module with my Yamaha DTX 522 triggers, and it worked pretty well there as well. Not as good as the adrums, as is to be expected. But the AD5 does a better job than the DTX 522, and the pads that I have are listed as compatible with the AD5 (the wizard makes it easy to set them up properly). So it was a good test to know that it works and I can add to the kit of what I already own if I want.

I am also surprised how quiet the kit is; being acoustic, I thought it would be much louder.

All in all I am very impressed with the kit, and I chose it over the Roland TD50, and I have no regrets.
