Just finished 8-20-25 this is Hawk USA kit number 3. For this kit we wanted to keep it simple by showing off the 8 ply Nordic Maple shells. These have a very nice grain to them and gave light satin finish to bring out the Beaty of the wood. We think they turned out great. This kit features our latest version of the Hawk Talon 3 trigger system. It’s a multi sensor system that avoids center hotspotting, but gives a great plain experience on both head and rim of each drum.
The kick drum features the new feather kick system which we developed in the spring which has foam behind where the beater hits on the mesh head to give you a nice non-bouncy feel while still being quiet.
Our systems feature high-quality piezos and cones, which are sourced in North America and hand installed to each drum and tested thoroughly before and after installation. We’re offering a five year warranty on the electronics.
Our drums work with most drum modules and we have the ability to test with pretty much any module on the market. In fact, we can’t even think of a system that they won’t work on even older Roland modules. If you need a module and cymbals we sell those. Let us know if you need a package deal.
The kit also features are three ply Hawk mesh heads, which are well regarded. They are less bouncy than other mesh heads and they’re actually quieter at the same time.
sizes are: 20x16 kick, 14x6.5 snare, 10x8 and 12x10 mounted toms, 14x14 floor tom. All hardware is chrome and features high quality tube lugs. Kick drum legs and mounts are all heavy duty and sturdy.
We are probably only putting about 6 of these out a year so grab this one while it lasts.

Received drum with no shipping damage! e-Drumcenter did an excellent job packing. I have been playing these drums using a TD-50X sound module for 3 months. Upon inspection, I did not like the way the hawk usa drum badge was installed on each of the drums. The screws were flat head and the badge holes should be beveled for a flush fit. Using a dremel tool on the badge holes did the trick. The screws for each drum badge are now flush and look good. I had a Roland PD-14Ds for the snare, so I took the 14 hawk snare and suspended it on a gilbralter side rack as a floor tom. Its a 6 piece now. I set the trigger and sensitivity levels staring with similar roland drum pads. A little tweaking and they are all triggering nicely. I used gilbralter stealth rack and extras to hold snare, toms and cymbals. Did a little wire management using the rack tubes to keep things a little cleaner. Very happy with this set-up. The rubber rims have a seam and are thinner than a typical rim on a Roland PDA100L. I have not had any rim issues, just a comparison. The rim on the hawk 14" snare (now used as floor tom) is sensitive and I used this as perfect positioned cowbell sound on this drums rim. The bass drum batter head have feel and response like the real thing. Hawk batter heads feel great. The noise levels are very low including the bass drum and are apartment friendly. The finish of the natural maple is eye pleasing. Very happy with this purchase.
