Roland TD716 Electronic Drum Kit

I went with the Roland TD716 from Edrumenter in January of 2025. Erik was an incredible resource in assisting me with dialing in the best kit for my needs. The prospect of having to sell a used e-kit in a year or two because I didn’t have top flight info on the latest technology and real world applications of these instruments just seemed silly. Erik was able to clearly assess my needs and make recommendations based on my professional uses.

The digital snare with throw-off on the TD716 has a fantastic feel. It’s so satisfying to lay into and to play. The digital ride has sound realism that, even after a year-plus, still startles and delights. The digital hi hat is better than anything else I’ve played. The V71 sounds are lush… so much so that I have yet to go online for downloadable options and have not even bothered to connect to my copy of Superior Drummer for sounds. I suspect that it was probably worth the upcharge from the TD713 for the better tom technology as well.

I don’t buy my groceries at a gas station. Why would I buy my e-drums from a music dealer—or even a drum shop—that doesn’t specialize in e-kits from all of the major players in the market or one who doesn’t have years worth of real world e-drum experience? When you give Edrumenter a call I suspect that you’ll find out, like I did, the clear choice of where to purchase your e-kit.
