Great Kit - Even better service

So my rating for the VAD507 is 4/5. Erik and Edrumcenter is a solid 10/10. He took the time to answer all my questions and I have not doubt I got the best fit for my needs, which were:

1. Look like an acoustical kit as much as possible. (We do the YouTube thing, so wanted to have something that looked nice but still be quite for neighbors)
2. Multi-channel output to DAW. I want as much control as possible in post so this was a must. This isn't for live shows so 1/4" outs for each drum wasn't a concern for me.
3. Give as much realistic feel for the performer as possible
4. Was hoping to between $3k and $4k at the most. (obviously this unit cost more but was the only thing I could find that covered the first 3)

Considering all the different brands and features, this was really the best option. It plays great and gives the right amount features I needed. Module is fairly easy to navigate although Roland could do better with the documentation. I have a couple of tree's worth of manuals but only because the few sentences they provide are written in every single language on earth, and maybe a few more like Elvish and Klingon. It's nuts... I still had to go online to figure out some stuff. But that's the way everything is these days.

USB to Mac OS works great. Using a USB feed frees up 9+ inputs on my XR-18 mixer too. I can combine the XR-18 (16 inputs) with the 28 channels from the TD-27 at the same time into Logic. I'm very excited for this.

My only complaint is the cost. I just think for this price, the shells could be larger like the 7 series and/or offer some color options. I really don't like the black sparkle. That's just me, but I'd love a cherry red or navy blue set. The hardware is fine though. Very sturdy and will no doubt last forever.

The VH-14D hi-hat and CY-18DR ride are crazy cool. Very impressive!

With that being said, the features and playability is great, it's covers all my needs and 90% of my wants.

Edrumcenter is now our go-to store for all our e-drum needs.

MASSIVE upgrade!!!

I had been playing on the TD-12 for nearly 20 years. I treasured the capabilities of the TD-12 in that it’s exactly what I needed for where I was in my life. But this new VAD507 compared to what I had is like going from a Walkie Talkie to an iPhone 15+. Not to mention the guys at eDrum Center have been in contact with me all along the way with my new babies.
