The Roland TD516 is the latest electronic drum kit from Roland, succeeding the highly popular TD-27KV2. It features the upgraded V51 module, equipped with the same advanced sound engine as the V71, along with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The kit retains the fantastic PD-140DS snare, the VH-14D hi-hat, and CY18DR ride cymbal. Newly designed toms reduce hotspots for improved playability, while the larger KD-12 kick drum offers enhanced stability and better compatibility with double pedals. The updated rack provides superior stability and more versatile mounting options for toms and cymbals.

The TD516 Includes:

  • Drum sound module: V51x 1
  • Snare: PD-140DS 14" digital electronic snare
  • Tom 1: PD-10P 10" tom with reduced hotspot technology
  • Tom 2: PD-10P 10" tom with reduced hotspot technology
  • Tom 3: PD-12P 12" tom with hotspot reduction technology
  • Hi-hat: VH-14D 14" digital hi hats
  • Crash 1: CY-12C-T 12" thin design electronic crash cymbal
  • Crash 2: CY-14R-T 14" thin design electronic crash cymbal
  • Ride: CY-18DR 18" digital ride.
  • Kick: KD-12 12" kick tower
  • Drum stand: MDS-Standard3 drum rack
  • Extra trigger input jack 4 (AUX 1/TOM 4--AUX 3, CRASH 2) * CRASH 2 jack is used for CY-14R-T of 2nd crash cymbal.

eDrumcenter is my favorite new business

Eric was super helpful and helping me select the perfect kit.I’m a guitarist who dabbles with drums, but wants to play a lot more and he was very patient with my more than likely dumb questions. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Great Kit

This is my third edrum kit. I previously had an early 2000’s Roland kit with brutal rubber pads, and subsequently, a 2010-ish Yamaha kit with nice silicon pads. The Yamaha had one killer sounding kit that I used consistently, but the other kits were just OK. I’m getting to like Roland’s V51 kit offerings more as I play them, especially mixed with music. While there are several decent usable kits included, inevitably I’ll take the best of what I like and create a custom kit with my favorite components.

I was able to get up and running in short time with little tweaking involved; pretty much ready to go out of the box, as many have said. Just really good, solid gear, especially the digital snare, ride, and hi-hats.

Been drumming since I bought my first acoustic kit in 1969 from a pal who was going to Woodstock and needed some money (really!). I needed his drums, so we made a deal. I’ve played thousands of gigs since then, but now at 70, I’m pretty much a house player and this kit satisfies the need from a small footprint.

Kudos to Aubrey for his quality timely communications and delivery. E-Drumcenter rocks!

The e-Drumcenter crew is AMAZING to work with!! I had a couple very specific questions about my choices for a new kit, relating to how it would be set up in my practice space. Keith helped me think through those in detail to make the best choice during a very laid-back, no-sales-pressure phone call. He even played the two kits in-store so I could hear a live example of their volume levels in the same space!

I chose the Roland TD516 as the option that best fit my current scenario and long term drumming goals, but knew its "package deal" was marked as out of stock on the e-Drumcenter website. Again, Keith went out of his way to not only build that package from individual components, but customized it by helping me choose versions of the components (hi-hat stand, snare stand) that worked best for my setup. AND it still cost less than any other retailer I researched or would consider purchasing from!!

e-Drumcenter's staff made payments easy. They made setting up a payment plan easy. They made me feel like I could talk to a real person for quick, insightful answers to any questions I might have. They related to me as a drummer and really made me feel supported as a musician investing in a high quality instrument.

After all that, it should be no surprise that this kit arrived FAST, and PRO-packaged—no delays, no damage, nothing missing, nothing to do but set up and start playing with nothing but a giant smile across my face.

Love this kit! It's going to help me grow as a drummer for years. SUPER appreciate all the help e-Drumcenter provided to make that happen!!

Roland is so consistently great.

This is my third Roland kit and they just keep getting better. Great sounds and so fun to play. Roland's e-cymbal technology keeps improving. Not yet exactly like the real thing, but closer and closer all the time. Easy to forget you're on an e-kit with the TD516. My last kit was the TD30 and I used Zildjian Gen 16 cymbals. Great feel and decent sound. No need to switch out the TD516 cymbals though. Close enough to real cymbals that it really wouldn't make that much difference. I'm incredibly happy with this kit. And e-Drumcenter was awesome to work with! I'm not sure if my emails were always being answered by the same person, but it was seamless. Quick responses. Super helpful. I'll definitely be a return customer!

Amazing dealer, amazing kit!

There’s a reason Reddit recommends this shop—they’re great! I’ve been wanting an edrum kit for years and finally feel like the TD516 has reached the point where it the stock sounds are great and the digital pads add a level of realism to make it a winner. Edrumcenter was super responsive and worked with me to get me the hardware I didn’t have at a great price. Customer for life now!
