I'm the worship drummer at our church and for over 37 years I was using the same vintage rubber Roland PD-21's (1987), CY cymbals and same 2-pairs of 37 y.o. Aquarian X-10's graphite composite sticks that never broke. Three years ago I bought myself a new Roland TD07-KVX mesh kit with a TAMA double kick. I also switched to wood Vic Firth sticks so I would not damage my white mesh heads with black marks from my old X-10's which I still have 40 years later. I was having an issue with my CY's misfiring, so instead of buying new more expensive Zildjian cymbals (regret selling my old ones), I went the cheaper Low Volume Mosico cymbals route along with a real hi-hat. But on certain songs during praise & worship I'd "connect" a stick with my opposite hand. Ouch! My current hi-hat was at it's limit, so realizing I needed a better slightly taller hi-hat on my TD07-KVX kit I keep at our church I went with a TAMA HH 205. This TAMA hi-hat fits the bill perfectly giving me the 2"+ of height I needed, and my hands (and my wife) are much happier. Thanks
Double braced so it feels very sturdy. The tension adjustment is a nice feature. Operates smoothly!
This is a great Hi Hat Stand. To be honest, it has probably been 25 years since I have used a Hi Hat Stand. All of my E-Drums have had one-piece Hi Hats with pedals, but no real HH Stand. When I upgraded to a more real HH type of E-Cymbal, I needed a stand. (And, I hated dealing with traveling pedals.) I had a stand in mind, and when I talked to Erik, he had another suggestion for me. Thanks Erik, your suggestion was perfect. The stand is everything that I would need in a HH Stand (Semi-lightweight, but Sturdy - Adjustable - Reliable, - and just Fun to play.
